When I taught sixth grade math and science, I found that my students responded positively to all the things we did with Growth Mindset. Sadly, students tend to have a fixed mindset when it comes to math and science. They say things like, “I’m not good at math” and “I can’t do science.” These posters were the product of my conversations with my sixth grade students, (except for the first one, “Hard work makes your dreams come true” which I have been saying for years to my students!) My favorite one is “Don’t let the fear of feeling dumb keep you from finishing what you have begun. This one originated after a discussion we had in class when the students shared that they get started on something, but they stop because they get scared they are going to look dumb. This is what we would say when they were working on a project that was hard and they felt like they were looking dumb. There are two sets of posters: one set is in the first person, the other set is in the second person. Enjoy!
