This recording sheet would work for 3-act tasks, word problems, or other problem-based math tasks. It could be used in many domains of CCSS for Math. It incorporates growth mindset research, Jo Boaler's ideas around assessment and feedback (emphasizing diagnostic over mark-based), and helping students find an appropriate challenge at the "edge of their ability." New research, found in the book, The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle, is also evident in this sheet, emphasizing the student's control over their creation of myelin (insulation of neurons, making them "smarter").
