This culminating task is Ontario Curriculum aligned and is a rich task that provides inquiry opportunities for students. It assesses the Growth and Changes in Plants (Science Curriculum), Report Writing, Media Literacy, and Oral Communication (Language Arts Curriculum).
This assessment is chunked into 4 parts: inquiry (research), writing a report based on research, creating a form of media to present their research, and an oral presentation.
Students are to research 3 specific questions (with some choice) based on the Ontario Science curriculum, and then are given the opportunity to also come up with their own related inquiry question as their 4th question.
It comes with space for teacher descriptive feedback, rubrics, and peer or self-assessments (2 stars and a wish).
