Students will develop and understanding of growth and fixed mindset. The lesson first has the students watch a video of kids who possess growth mindsets. The students will then be asked to come up with adjectives to describe the kids in the video (collaboration activity, which also get students moving around!). After a discussion about the things that people with fixed mindsets say and what people with growth mindsets say, the students will create their own goal. With the goal, they will write what someone with a fixed mindset would say, and then what someone with a growth mindset would say. They will color in an arrow to show that they are choosing the growth mindset.
The PowerPoint contains teaching notes to assist. The goal worksheet can be printed and copied for the students to complete.
