This game reviews concepts for Rational Equations and Functions for Algebra II. Concepts include variation (direct, inverse and joint), simplifying, multiplying, dividing, adding/subtracting rational expressions, simplifying complex fractions, and solving rational equations.
To play: I grouped students into three teams. Each team nominates a person to come to the "hot seat" each turn. Students used a whiteboard to do each problem. The game uses a random word chooser to pick what question is used each time. I awarded +2 points for the first team to have the correct answer and +1 point for each team if they got the answer correct. If they were correct, they got to shoot a koosh ball into a basket. If they make the basket, the team can either earn +1 point or erase a point from another team. The team with the most points wins.
The Smartboard file has all the pages linked together and answers.
Materials: whiteboards, dry erase markers, koosh ball, something to use a basket (I used the garbage can with a fresh bag inside it)
