Download includes two tests
A 50 short-answer-question test with an additional ten possible essay questions.
Most questions may be answered in 1-3 words. Because the questions are listed in the same order as they appear in the book, it is a good assessment to determine if students actually read the book instead of reading plot summaries, watching movies, getting information from other students, etc. After grading the test, it will be obvious if students read only part of the book, if they skimmed the book, or if they read the book thoroughly.
A 20 identification / definition test with the same ten possible essay questions
If you want to determine if a student actually read a book, these types of assessment are much more effective than multiple-choice tests where students can guess answers or essay tests where good writers can often bluff their way through the topics. The download includes the tests, answer sheets, and answer keys. The tests may be used without the essay topics or with only one or two of the essays. Teachers can allow students to choose essay topics from the list, or teachers can assign specific essay topics.
