PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Guerrilla Marketing reading and writing assignment was designed for an art and design related class, but is excellent for graphic design and advertising/marketing related classes, both high school and post-secondary education.

Great for online as well as classroom lectures, this Guerrilla Marketing reading and writing assignment goes hand-in-hand with my Guerrilla Marketing PowerPoint Presentation. The article goes over “How to solve a traditional design problem with an unconventional solution” through Guerrilla Marketing. This article, including on-line references, covers traditional vs. non-traditional advertising, and the six main types of unconventional advertising techniques; including: Viral Marketing, Brand Pushers, Celebrity Marketing, Bait-and-Tease Marketing, Marketing in Video Games and Marketing in Pop and Rap Music.

The sub-sections of each technique briefly covers Stealth Marketing, Product Placement, Ambient Advertising, Experiential Marketing, Ambush Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Elevator Advertising, Bathroom Advertising, Transit Advertising, Aerial Advertising, Graffiti Advertising, and Body Advertising.

The writing assignment that follows the article includes Q&A from the article (50 points) and a writing OR drawing/sketching of thumbnails section regarding student ideas for different guerrilla marketing/advertising solutions. Assignment Example: Think of ways that you can use unconventional advertising to design advertisements or advertising strategies for your own business or as a designer/artist for an advertising firm. An example of bathroom advertising would be placing an advertisement promoting senior portraits in the bathroom stalls of local high schools. As opposed to paying for this space, I could offer my services as a free-lance photographer for a discounted price or offer the school free photography services. The ads would be gender specific.

All though you do not need to provide my PowerPoint presentation, as this article provides on-line links to Guerrilla Marketing/Advertising examples; the presentation is an excellent visual made up primarily of pictures.
