Created by a professional children's yoga teacher, this children's yoga lesson plan is the perfect companion to the lovable book "Guess How Much I Love You" by Sam McBratney. (Must have a copy of the book for the tie-in, or can use on its own for fun and active yoga poses all about love!).
The packet includes traditional yoga poses, modified to be age appropriate, to act out the full story, including lots of fun creative movements and imaginative play, breathing & calming (self-regulation) exercises, relaxation, and mindfulness activities.
This download also includes printable Yoga Cards for each of the poses to use along with the book. Great to use with the lesson, or as fun brain breaks throughout the year! The real photographs provide great visuals for the students.
All lessons include tips on working with various ages and abilities (this specific plan is tailored to Preschoolers-3rd Grade), giving options of difficulty for poses and allowing instructors to modify for their specific students. Easy to follow poses, even with no prior yoga experience.
Each lesson plan is KID TESTED, and includes step-by-step instructions for the poses/exercises, large photographs of the full lesson plan in action, and a list of additional resources (including books, props, songs, free printables, etc. to supplement the lesson plan).
The lesson plans do not promote or include any spiritual/religious elements. Work great for classroom, library, or at-home use.
