Students will discover how to ask a good question when trying to guess your number. They may only ask yes or no questions, as you eliminate numbers on an overhead 100's chart, using a document projector or a projection screen from your computer/ipad.
Allow them to first figure it out on their own, tally how many questions it takes for them to get your number. Then ask them, do you think you could guess my number in less questions by eliminating more numbers at a time.
Maybe do another time or two and then use the last sheet in the file that allows them to brainstorm good terminology to form a good question. **As a follow up, you could do another game where students use a "Headbands" format of Guess My Number Game, where students ask "good" questions while discovering the number, using definitions and properties of numbers to guess their partner's number.
Please leave feedback, if you enjoy the activity. Or, if you are interested in purchasing the font. I created it myself.
