Product Description
Using the mentor text "Dirty Laundry Pile - Poems in Different Voices" by Paul B. Janeczko, students will be asked to select two objects to give a voice to and have the class guess what object they are describing.

You DO NOT need to purchase the book for this activity but it does lend itself nicely to the lesson.

Provided in this packet is the final copy paper for students to use to describe their two objects in detail without naming them. They can type or write on the lines provided. In the boxes below, they will create a picture of their intended object. A page of question marks is included. Each student will receive two question mark squares to use to cover up their picture. The students are encouraged to share their writing and have the class guess what object they are describing. The picture is shown only after the object is guessed correctly. Also included is a student sample along with a teacher sample to be used as examples.
