This is the Spanish version of the Anticipation Guide. An Anticipation Guide, or Guía de anticipación, can be used before, during, and after reading an expository selection. Simply identify your topic (tema) and list a few statements that will be discussed in the reading. The teacher should include some common misconceptions on the topic. Students will have to consider each of the statements and determine whether they Agree (Acuerdo) or Disagree (Desacuerdo) with the statement.
Using an Anticipation Guide helps the teacher check for student understanding (yes, this is a formative assessment!) on a given topic. Even better, this is a tool that will help students monitor their own understanding!!
