This is a fun card game for students to review using guide words. Fourteen cards ask students to select the entry word that would be on the same page with the provided guide words. The other fourteen cards ask students to select the guide words that would be on the same page as the provided entry word. These cards can be used as task cards or to play SPLASH!
Directions: Put cards in the center of the group of players. Player draws a card and answers the question. If the player is correct, s/he keeps the card. If the player is incorrect, the card is returned to the pile. If a player draws a SPLASH! card, all of that player's cards must be returned to the pile, and the SPLASH! card is put to the side. Play continues until all cards are used. The student with the most cards is the winner! If you use this as a game, white boards and markers are helpful for students to use to alphabetize the words.
Included are 28 problem cards, three SPLASH! cards, directions, an optional student recording sheet, and an answer key. This game is helpful to have on hand for early finishers. It also makes an engaging ELA center
