This is a study guide for the book titled Escape from the Slave Traders, by Dave & Neta Jackson. In this book, two African boys are taken captive by slave traders and then freed by David Livingstone. The boys accompany Mr. Livingstone on his quest to find a way to stop the slave trade and to open the interior of Africa to missionaries.
There are 40 books in the TRAILBLAZER series. Each book focuses on the life of a Christian hero or a missionary. The books are classified as historical fiction because one or more fictional young people are included, but the information about the hero/missionary is true -- and there is a biographical section at the end of each book. The stories are suspenseful and engaging -- and readers learn about many Christian heroes and missionaries.
Escape from the Slave Traders is set in Africa in the 1860s; the Christian hero/missionary is David Livingstone.
Each section of this guide contains vocabulary exercises, questions for discussion, and a reading activity. Extension activities and an answer key are also included.
