Great companion to the Argumentative Essay bundle!
These fill-in-the-blank notes are aligned with the Common Core and teach students about the fundamental components of an argument, as well as the fallacies.
The student notes are one page, front and back, and are designed to be kept in a folder or notebook for reference.
The Teacher Key can be printed as a reference sheet to be used by students.
As teachers guide their class through the notes, they can ask students to anticipate answers.
As each blank is filled-in, it offers an opportunity for discussion, examples, and further explanation. Students love practicing with the fallacies!
These can be filled-in and taught in one day, or you can take several days/weeks to get through them.
I usually spend 1 to 2 weeks on this particular component, giving students some time to practice with certain elements as we make our way through the notes.
This gives students a frame of reference, and will be the foundation for all other argumentative writing lessons.
