Moving students from simple paragraphs to multi paragraph essays can be a difficult task for teachers. Modeling and guidance are probably the most important steps when transitioning to multi paragraph expository essays. This 6 Trait based writing activitiy allows for teachers to model poor, satisfactory, and exemplary writing for each component of an expository essay. There are teacher notes and suggestions for instruction, but teachers may also adapt it however they'd like. There is also a placemat art project at the very end that is based on the topic of the paper (Popular Lunch Choice).
