It's done with a Pirate twist. The treasures are the skills and concepts you want the students to know. The students will be guided to find the treasures in a fun, yet academic way.

Use this in Guided Reading groups to teach mini-lessons on figurative language or close read strategies!
Or it can be used throughout the year to motivate and track student independent reading!

Biography Research Notebook
This Biography Research Notebook is a great project that promotes independent work. This can be done for a weekly project, independent class work, or when finished with required work in the computer lab. Pages can be modified to meet the needs of your students. There are 32 figures so this can be easily done throughout the year giving your students a biography collection when finished. This activitiy strengthens internet research skills or have the students use books from your school library.

Guided Reading Task Cards
Guided reading take cards can be used for early finishers, reading groups, or book projects. Each task has a student guided activity along with an activity sheet for the student to use for their work. There are a total of 12 cards that can be printed on card stock and laminated. Some topics included:
-character analysis
-antagonist analysis
