This is my go-to binder for Guided Reading!
It contains everything you need to be successful at guided reading in the primary grades! It has been tried and tested by multiple teachers, with several revisions over the years!
-Reading Level data tracking sheet
-Group organization sheet
-Guided Reading check off sheets by level (levels A-F!)
-Determine each student's reading level. We use Fountas and Pinnell reading assessment to get a level A-Z. Record on the Data Tracking table.
-Divide students into reading level groups, based on their level and abilities. I do six-seven groups of 3-5 kids. These groups are fluid and ever-changing. Print the group recording sheets (will need several).
- Print a level recording sheet for each student at his/her level.
- Meet with groups on a regular schedule. When meeting with the group, refer to their level recording sheet to see which skills are needed to be taught for that level. They build progressively, so check the previous levels as well.
-As the students master the skills, check off the skill on their sheet. When they have mastered every skill for that reading level, it may be time to reassess their level!
