HOW LUCKY AM I!?!?!? I have had the honor of teaching with the CREATORS/AUTHORS of the DRA and DRA2 in my very own building. (Yes, it was created right here in Central Ohio and by REAL teachers!)
So, with their influence, I have created lesson plan templates for teaching my guided reading groups. Of course, I added my own personal touches! I have revamped these documents over my many years of teaching and these are my most useful versions thus far!
There are 2 templates. The first is for those groups reading at DRA levels 1 – 4 (Levels A – C). The second for those groups reading at DRA levels 5 – 14 (Levels D – I). I have included an area to list all the members of the reading group (which I have not found on other guided reading forms), actual teacher prompts that coincide with Beanie Baby decoding strategies (which I LOVE), a list of teaching points to choose from after reading, an area for new words to teach, and an area to keep track of guided writing sentences.
