Use this Prep Pack to be on your A game for Guided Reading. My goal for this school year was to focus on guided reading groups. I have designed and used this in my own classroom and it has helped tremendously.
I use the first page to organize my students into certain guided reading groups. I write my students names on post it note flaps by color (EX: puppy group = blue sticky note). As my students reading improves, I will move them accordingly and be able to see what color/ group each student started at and seeing their progression throughout the year.
The next page are picture labels you can print and laminate. I got bins from the Target Dollar Spot that have a pocket on the front that is perfect for attaching these reading group labels.
The third page is a schedule that I use to keep track of what reading group I am meeting with each day.
The last few pages are example lesson plans (2) I have used during guided reading. The first is an example of my guided reading with my low's. The second is with my high's. The first page in my plans I use to plan what reading strategies, comprehension skills, and overall goals I have for the lesson. It pretty much breaks down your lesson in a short and simple way for a quick reference during your lesson! The last page has an assessment rubric I use to see if my students' are reaching their goals.
Print and put in a binder for an easy to grab resource!
