Looking for additional ways to prompt for comprehension? I created different comprehension categories and questions that fall under each category for students to think more deeply about text, understand more about a book’s characteristics, and enjoy reading for it’s literary value.
You will have our own set of prompting cards and TIC-TAC-TOE boards with this download!
The prompting cards can be great to have right at your side while teaching guided reading or during your read alouds.
Questioning Prompts Focus On:
There are 3 TIC-TAC-TOE response boards. The TIC-TAC-TOE boards can be used for discussion questions about the books you're reading in guided reading or you can use them during Read Alouds.
There are three different TIC-TAC-TOE boards with all different questions for each of the above categories.
The TIC-TAC-TOE activity is a great way to help your students begin to have a new understanding for reading and broaden their thinking processes about books!
All questioning skills are adapted from Guided Reading and Writers Grades 3-6By Irene C. Fountas and Gay Su Pinnell
