Here is everything you'll need to get ready & organized for Guided Reading Groups. This was created to help not only track progress within each Guided Reading group, but also for individual students as well!
This product includes:
- Lesson Plan Template with areas to document: Group name, date, text, level, Fiction or Non-Fiction, focus & strategy for each lesson, discussion topics for pre/post lesson, important vocabulary, group notes and which student participated in a running record.
- Calendar: Print multiple copies to be used for each group! Organized by the day of the week, there is space for the date, text and level for each lesson.
- Group Notes: There are multiple copies of this form, one for a group of 4, 5 or 6 (respectively). Each page includes a table with room for student names and any observations made during the lesson.
- Student Observations: For a more in depth look at each student, there is a page designed to track progress for individual students. The table includes date, text, level, strengths and areas of growth.
I keep all of my Guided Reading Lesson Plans in a binder together, each group within their own tab. For each group I put the calendar first, front-to-back, ready to be used throughout the year. I copy Guided Reading Notes pages front-to-back with Reading Observations page for each group. I have a stack of Student Observations pages that I keep separate. Whenever I do a running record for a student, I'm quick to jot down notes about them!
Happy (organized!) reading!
