This is the second unit of six units that I have created with common core standards. This lesson plan has plans that allow you to cover all of the concepts and standards for grades 3,4,5, and 6.
Careful planning has been considered when spiraling skills and strategies throughout the entire year. Each unit is sold separately allowing flexibility before and after each 5 weeks. Your students will be more prepared than ever with each unit to guide you through your school year. You will have less worries about the pacing, because I have done that for you. There are assessments for each objective. The student pages can be used over and over with any book or text.

Motivate your students through these personalized practice activities. The Common Core Standards for ELA are divided into the strands for Reading, Language, and Writing. Preview your week with the Unit At A Glance with a one sheet resource. Any mentor text using each of the weekly skills and strategies will give you flexibility in presenting your lessons. The Guided Teaching Guide will give you background knowledge for implementing the objectives necessary for the entire 5 weeks. Place all of these resources in a 3-ring binder for easy access. For independent reading, students should select appropriate complex texts to read and write about by using their knowledge from your modeling of the skills and mini lessons.
Each set of student activity sheets provides higher-level thinking skills that you can use for the rest of your teaching career. With spiraling elements, you will find that mastery of the objectives is much easier than you may have experienced. The intent of these lessons was to enable the teacher to teach all of these objectives with mastery. My resource will guide you to success.
