Alphabet Chart ~ Guided Reading (Levels AA-C) & Writing Mat
In Pre-K & Kindergarten, I use this, printed back-to-back, for a variety of activities. After being laminated or put in sheet protectors:
Students match magnetic letters to the chart.
Students point to a named letter.
Beginning at A read the alphabet from left to right.
When stretching sounds to write words, students use the pictures to determine which letter makes the sound they want to spell.
Point to a set of boxes that has the same number of sounds or syllables in a given word.
In the sets of boxes, show where a sound is in a given word. e.g. “In the set of 3 boxes, where is the sound /b/ in bed, beginning middle or end? Can you point to the box that shows where it is?
Guided writing lines to practice writing their name, letters, etc.
