In my classroom I use the Scholastic Guided Reading Program with the red leveled book boxes. One of the requirements to fulfill the writing component at the end of each 2nd Day Lesson, was to have the students retell the story in some way using their "notebook." Scholastic said to just fold piece of paper together and staple...so of course, I had to make my own version. In the notebook there are lined pages for open writing, BME graphic organizer sheets, and blank pages for your own customization or for students to create their own graphic organizers, pictures, T-charts, etc.. Also, I can use this as an assessment or for data tracking purposes come parent teacher conference time! Just print back to back, fold, and staple!
