This guided reading planner is great for anybody starting Guided Reading for the first time or who is looking for a better way of tracking their students' reading. It comes with a program based on 5 groups of 5 different colours. I have already outlined the frequency of reading with each group so that the ones who need it the most have lots of time to spend reading with you. I also included a reading schedule for each day of the week. This is great to do at the same time as your literacy centres/Daily 5!
Included:
-page for tracking reading levels (I use different colour highlighters for each term to better see their progress throughout the year)
-week at a glance pages where you can organize your weekly focus (reading strategies, decoding strategies, pre and post reading activities, etc.)
-colour-coded weekly spread where you can take notes on each child or the group
-monthly reading group page
-monthly dividers
You will find what you need to plan for groups of up to 5 students in a small reading group. Fountas & Pinnell suggest that guided reading include 5 or less students in a group. The optimum number in a guided reading or intervention group is 3.
Simply print the document double sided and add in the dividers where necessary, bind and it is ready to use!
