Product Description
Guided Reading
This Anchor Chart is for behavior expectations when working with a small group. What do the other students do? It addresses three questions that students ask when working independently, so the teacher can focus on the small group without interruption.

The anchor chart is legal size 11 x 17 and can be used with any small group subject area, including guided reading. Included:
---Suggestions for use and teaching
---3-D Full Color 11 x 17 poster
---2-D Full Color / Grayscale 11 x 17 poster

Suggestions
• Hold a class discussion about what guided reading looks like, sounds like, and feels like (i.e. working hard, quietly…).
• Ask questions such as what if? May I interrupt? Take notes on chart paper to record what the students say.
• Tell the students you will summarize everything they said…which will surprisingly be pretty much what is on this anchor chart.
• The next day, print this anchor chart and review the expectations and procedures.
• Role play periodically to reinforce the procedures.
• Pause during guided reading every day for the first two weeks to point out and recognize students doing exactly what they are supposed to do.
