These cards are meant to get your kids talking about the books they are reading, whether in guided reading groups, for homework, in small literature circles, or as students read independently.
Of course, there may be a few questions that may not apply to the book your student is reading, but I tried my best to make as many as possible that will fit with any fictional text.
There are questions about:
These questions are at many levels of Bloom's taxonomy, and challenge students to think abut the text they read, as well as to provide evidence using the text as a basis.
These cards can be used in a guided reading setting, where students are asked to focus on just one question per day, having the teacher be the facilitator of this question OR these cards can be used during independent reading time, when you want to ensure that students are truly thinking and comprehending the text they are reading.
I suggest laminating these cards, cutting them up, and having students picking up 2-3 cards before reading any text!
Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking!
