Each level has a set of skills that students need to master to move to the next level. the skills are written in question form. Students self-assess their progress and are able to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Teachers can have students use this before reading, while reading, and after reading. Teachers can create learning targets for each individual child according to their self-assessment. This checklist also allows teachers to create data about their students and assist them with struggling areas to help them move up in levels and proof of progress.
