This is a lesson plan I made on placement for a group of 5 students in a Prep/Kinder Level class. It is based on the Australian book "Sarah Snail" by a group of children at Lowesdale School, Illustrated by Peter Shaw.

Its aim is to focus on reading fluency and directional/positional words, which is a main feature of this text.It includes a discussion/reading section with the whole group, including sample literal and inferential questions specific to the book and aim of the lesson.It also includes two follow up activities, one involving drawing and writing in order to consolidate understanding of directional/positional words, as well as a physical 'mime' activity to help the students understand and comprehend the different directional words displayed in the text.
