Product Description
Are you new to teaching? Do you need help setting up your first Guided Reading program. This package has everything you need to get started that first month. There's structured lessons, planning grids, common core goals, and much more.

This guide started because I asked myself what I would have needed when I first started teaching Guided Reading all those years ago. I designed this package for student teachers, and beginning teachers. As a new teacher, the Common Core can be very overwhelming. There’s a lot of stuff you are supposed to teach in there. If you look a bit closer, the Common Core goals build on what children are supposed to learn the previous year. There’s a logical sequence to all the skills. I really like how the Common Core specifically outlines each skill needed to be an effective reader. Your job is to teach those skills. The first four weeks of my program focuses on the Reading Foundation Skills to start. Even if you don’t agree with the ideas behind the Common Core, or you teach in another country besides the USA, I think you will find this program a great way to start of your planning, and set up your routine.

Have you ever been on a diet? If you have, you probably had been given the rules and restrictions of the diet and probably a sample menu or weekly plan to follow. I have been on a multitude of different diets, and when I haven’t got that weekly plan to use as a guide, I have felt completely overwhelmed and lost. I realize now that I need to see a structure first. Then I like to follow a few days of the plan, or a few weeks, until I get the hang of things and then I feel confident enough to shake it up and try new ideas that are not in the weekly plan, but still fit within the diet plan.
