Description

I created this document to help teachers help their students at each level of guided reading. There is one sheet per level aa-Z.

I have taught Reading for over 25 years. I still own my first and original copy of Fountas & Pinnell’s Guided Reading book, first edition and I taught Reading Recovery for five years from 1996-2001. Since then, a lot has come along: The Continuum and BAS by F&P, Reading A-Z, Next Steps in Guided Reading by Jan Richardson, Scholastic Leveled Libraries, Blevin's A Fresh Look at Phonics...etc. but one thing remains true: reader behaviors and text level characteristics. This product aligns to all leveled reading instruction systems. It is universal, timeless & research-based. Add it to your Guided Reading toolkit. I hope you find the concise way it’s organized to be helpful.

*Please note that research tells us that Guided Phonics is best for emerging readers (K-1), and Guided Phonics remains best for developing readers (2nd + up).

I believe there is no other document like this that exists for teachers with such concise level descriptors with high frequency words AND phonics patterns/word work with dictation PER level all on one sheet. Please rate this document carefully. I take extreme pride and give extra attention to detail in everything I create and do.

There are over 300 reading comprehension teaching points, and over 130 phonics teaching points....literally, you have enough teaching points to last you ALL YEAR!

This documents has many uses. Let it guide your:

  • guided reading lessons
