Guided Reading is the heart of the reading block. Utilizing effective tools and strategies are essential to developing young readers. Whether you teach guided reading with Jan Richardson's framework or Fountas and Pinnell or your core curriculum, this tool is essential.
Use the boxes for students to record letter sounds and then practice blending. The lines below provide space for students to write a sentence incorporating the new word they blended or to practice writing the word repeatedly. Cut this resource in half, then laminate, and finally place on guided reading table where students sit! Expo markers work wonderfully with kleenexes or socks as erasers! ;-)
