This activity is a good review of understanding how to Determine whether a relationship is"A Direct Variation, An Inverse Variation, or Neither?"
The steps of analyzing and studying such a concept are included in details. Three examples are illustrated using the 3 steps listed and work shown. One example is a direct variation model, another is an inverse variation model, and the third is neither. Then, a "blank" steps form is provided for students to utilize as they're analyzing a prepared worksheet over this concept which consists of 11 questions. Question number 12 asks students to come up with their own Inverse Variation table of values. Students may/may not use the form. It is up to the teacher as the whole purpose is to strengthen their understanding of the process. The answer key is provided.
This guided notes could be used to reinforce the concept. Students may work independently or with a partner. It could also be used before a short quiz or as a warm up. Maybe used with as part of a sub plan. May be you could use it when you have few minutes left at the end of the period and would need a quick and sweet review/recap.
