Perfect for students with IEPs or anybody in your class who is struggling to write during independent writing time - three pattern prompts with 13 topics to write on for emerging writers! Included are writing pages for the following patterns: "I see the," "I can," and "I like." There are also booklets to print for each pattern, as well as single sheets with 3 picture boxes and sentence starters, to encourage emerging writers to write multiple sentences on topic.
Multiple ways to use:
- Give your students one topic to write on and know that their writing will stay on topic as all pictures on a page correlate to each other
- Allow students to chose between 2 or 3 topics to write on to provide more autonomy for your students and encourage them to write about things that matter to them
- Or, put all the writing topic pages in a binder or folder and use it at a writing center to help motivate reluctant writers who struggle to find a topic to write on
The following topics are included (color & black and white images included; unless otherwise specified, 9 pictures per topic):
-Action words (i.e. jump, run, skate)
-Dinosaurs (5 images)
-Food (18 images)
-Pets (9 pets + 9 things to take care of my pet)
-Zoo animals (15 images)
