I created a gumball math bulletin board to track my students progress in multiplication and to motivate them to continue practicing. Each student has their own gumball machine on the board (you can get this on google). I print, cut and laminate the equation cards so that one student can use the card without answers and say them aloud while their partner with the answer card checks for correction. They start with the ones times tables and and practice with their partner. Once they think they are ready for the test I put the test in a plastic casing so they can use an expo marker on the test. In order to pass students must complete the test within 2 minutes and they must all be correct (time and number of problems can be adapted to grade level). If they pass, they put their one times tables gumball into their gumball machine and they move onto the two times tables. The first person to fill their gumball machine will receive a special prize.
