Objective of the game:
•Be the first one to cover all of your sight word gumballs in your jar.
•Cut apart individual gumballs
•Write sight words onto blank rectangular cards (These should be the words that students write in their gumball machine.)
•Students should be familiar with words used in the game.
How to Play
•Each player needs a sheet with a gumball machine. Depending on the age of the child, they can either write the sight words on the gumballs or the teacher can have them prepared in advance.
•Once the boards are prepared, put out the cut up gumballs in the middle of the group (like bingo pieces).
•The leader will pick a card from the white rectangular cards and read it out loud.
•If the student has this sight word, they use a gumball to cover it up in their jar.
•The first student to fill their jar wins! Continue to play and switch roles!
