Teach your students how to hear the target “Gg” sound in this goofy story about Gus the gorilla teaching new words to Gabby the goose. Eight 8x11" original watercolors will bring this story to life for your preschool, kindergarten or 1st grade entire class, small group or one-on-one session for general education, ESL or speech/language therapy sessions. Students are instructed to raise their hand when they hear a word with the “g” sound, then the teacher writes that word on a display board. After the story-telling, the students each cut & staple a mini booklet with the same 6 picture sequence in English or Spanish for practice at home. Additional sheets include: One 6-pix sequential story without dialogue for writing prompts; 8 pages of the same story (2 pix per page) with larger font for early readers in English and in Spanish; 1 page for determining Main Idea by counting how many pictures agree with each sentence on a list of possible main ideas; 1 coloring page with additional words beginning with "Gg" in both Spanish & English; 6 pairs of pictures of rhyming word pairs (Ex. gate/late, go/bow); and 4 pages with introduction and instructions for teaching phonemic awareness based upon my experience as a bilingual speech pathologist using these material in a MTSS program in general education classrooms as well as with students with disabilities.
