This activity targets three domains of the Spanish language: Speaking, Writing and Listening.
This activity is very similar to the familiar first day of school activity "find someone who." Students will walk around the room and ask their classmates (in Spanish, of course!) questions about what they like to do. Students will respond to the question in Spanish and the questioner will record their answer. Once all students have completed their "find someone who" chart, students will return to their seats to complete the writing activity which involves the information they just gathered from their classmates.
Targets grammar structure of gustar- specifically "me gusta", "te gusta", and "le gusta".
Further activities can be launched off of this activity depending on the teacher's preferences. For example, a whole class analysis of likes and dislikes can be done to create a graph of class preferences (yay math in Spanish!). Then students can create sentences based on the class using "nos gusta" and "les gusta".
