Teaching haiku is easy with this study-practice-publish activity kit!
* * * REVISED ON 4/13/13... Revisions include fact sheet about haiku poetry, addition of 2 more sample haiku poems (written by me :) and 2 new publishing paper choices!
Students will study sample haiku poems to discover the 5-7-5 pattern. Then, they can choose from 2 different writing planners to practice their own haiku form.
When they're ready to publish, your students can choose from 6 different writing papers decorated with fun & funky borders.
I've also included a powerpoint slideshow of these materials in the event that you're using a smartboard or projection unit.
Included in this kit:
- 4 sample haiku poems
- 2 writing planners
- 6 final publishing paper choices
- powerpoint slideshow
