This student directed Halloween narrative writing lesson is for grades 6 - 8. It allows students to independently write a narrative story about a haunted house that is real or imagined. Students will brainstorm ideas, build their paragraphs, edit their papers, write their final paper, and grade them before handing them in for their teacher's final grade. Grading time is significantly reduced for the teacher, and students enjoy the lesson.

Included in the lesson:

1. Steps on teaching the lesson

2. The brainstorm idea organizer

3. The paragraph organizer

4. Two scoring guides for student grading of final paper

5. Art worksheet

This lesson is CC aligned for those teachers that need an alignment. If you don't, then please disregard the alignment and have fun teaching writing.
