A lot of students have asked me if their preferred colleges are going to be accepting the current SAT by the time they graduate. In an effort to help, I have put together this list of some of the colleges that are accepting the current and/or redesigned SAT from students graduating high school in 2017 and 2018. It also includes which colleges are requiring and requesting the optional essay section on the redesigned SAT, if they have already determined that.
This list is very much NOT comprehensive. For one thing, there are a LOT of colleges and universities out there, and I have already spent the better part of two weeks doing the research to put together this much. But this IS 7 pages of schools that my students have expressed interest in attending, so there should be at least something for everyone on this list.
Note that many colleges are still debating their future testing policies. It is important to keep in mind that the information in this chart is subject to change as those debates continue. As this chart is intended to help students figure out which which version of the SAT to prepare for, it errs on the side of safety: if a school had not yet publicly decided on a policy regarding the new test, the chart was filled in based on the assumption that the school would ultimately accept only the Redesigned SAT.
