New Updated Edition
This activity allows students to create a chronological timeline of the major events of the Australian Gold Rush. There are two options for this activity; the first is to create an expandable timeline and the second is to create a linear timeline. The information has been provided for the students to read and sort in chronological order and glue on to their timeline. Once students have created their timeline they are able to complete the question sheet demonstrating their understanding of their timeline and the gold rush events.
This fun and engaging activity supports the following Australian Curriculum content descriptors:
Sequence information about people’s lives, events, developments and phenomena using a variety of methods including timelines (ACHASSI097)
The impact of a significant development or event on an Australian colony (ACHASSK108)
The reasons people migrated to Australia and the experiences and contributions of a particular migrant group within a colony ACHASSK109)
