This packet offers comprehension questions on "The One and Only Ivan", but comes in the form of a cursive handwriting traceable. Hey Cursive, Meet Comprehension! Spice both of these skills up by combining them with an amazing read.
Each worksheet asks 2-3 questions about a small bulk of chapters in the book. Students must first trace over the cursive questions before they can answer them. They love the mystery of not knowing each question until it has been traced.
This combines reading comprehension questions and cursive handwriting practice to improve upon two literacy skills at the same time. It works great for grades 4-5 when combined with the book. 3rd grade may find this useful as well once they've gotten cursive writing down.
This activity not only improves their handwriting but also gets students to think about the questions more as they as writing them out. Great for in class work, reading stations, writing stations, daily 5, centers, or sent as homework.
Pair one of the best books of this decade with cursive handwriting and see some awesome improvement in your students!
Thank you for looking and have a great 2016-2017 school year!
