This lesson is great for any art class learning to create depth and dimension. Cross contour drawing helps students understand the volume of a subjects surface. Students learn how to draw ellipses properly in perspective and are shown common mistakes to avoid. The video explains step by step how to draw the images from start to finish. It is edited and parts are sped up so students can see the entire proces in 8 minutes. They learn that it takes time and patience to get the form right and it doesn't always happen on the first try. They also learn how to add variety in the width and spacing of their contour lines to add interest and personality to their work.
The reference photos can also be used to create a still life drawing in any medium you wish. They are great to have on hand for students to use as reference for works that expand on ellipse drawing.
This lesson is also included in the following bundles. Bundles are a great way to get a lot of resources at a discounted price.
