PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Inspire your students with key information on Hispanic Americans and the tremendous contributions they have made to every avenue of American life.

The 36 task cards will not only help your students review parts of speech but will also equip your students with vital information on American Hispanics. Students will be able to record their answers on an Answer Sheet and check against the answer key or via the QR Answer Codes. There are also 13 poster templates (one blank) for early finishers to design to display below a banner .

Below is a brief summary of what’s included:
✓ 36 Task Cards to review and practice the parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections). Each card features key information on an Hispanic American. This will help students to record 2-3 facts in their posters.

✓ 36 QR Answer Codes – glue behind task cards or place separately

✓ Answer Sheet (if not using QR Answer Codes)

✓ Recording Sheet (1 page)

✓ 13 student poster templates – as students finish the task cards, they can work on designing a poster of choice on any one Hispanic American. A blank poster template is included should they wish to illustrate.

✓ One banner – buntings reading ‘Hispanic Americans’

SUGGESTED USE
♦ Small group rotations (cards may be rotated among small groups of students)
♦ Literacy Centers
♦ Game of Scoot:
There are many variations to the game.
Here’s one:
Lay cards round the classroom. When the teacher calls ‘scoot’ students pick up a card and write their response on the provided Recording Sheet. Students can only move when ‘scoot’ is called out. If the student does not finish solving the problem on a card, he/she can continue to spend more time on it, but must wait till the teacher calls out ‘scoot’. You can also have this as a silent activity where students move around quietly solving all the task cards without the teacher calling out ‘scoot’.

→ students who finish quickly can work on designing their posters.

→ Students who take long to finish may have a buddy to help them.
