Do It Now assignment ideas
These are other sets of interesting types of assignments to start your class each day. I have used them from time to time in-between other opening ideas just to keep my students guessing what tomorrow will bring. This one came originally from a fellow teacher and she used it with perfection. I tried it but mine was not as near perfect as hers, but it began to grow on me over time. I still use my other tried and true forms of various bell ringers, questions of the day, LaGumbos, Jambalaya questions, Lagniappe questions, and music questions, plus a few Do Now questions mixed in, just to name a few. I just never seem to know what will strike my fancy next week.
Many of my questions are ones I came up with and have used over the years while others are collected from my teacher friends, some from from the internet, others from my own smart phone, others from books I've read, and others from my own friends, student teachers and teachers/coworkers and/or family – just a mixed bag, like most teachers.
There are FREE samples plus a blank Do Now sheet so you can write your own questions and an internet copy of a Blog on "The Do Now: A Primer".
I would LOVE for you to email some of your own class questions so that maybe it will inspire me to do even better on my own Do Nows if you don't mind.
