As a history middle school teacher you are always looking for something that will make facts be burned into kids noggins and I found a couple of new and interesting ways to get my kids to 'think' for a change. Here is a way to get them to come up with a Makin History fact/person/event/place/thing that did not make the textbook in distinct ERA.
The other magazine cover also lets them to create another historical figure generally not in the text BUT SHOULD BE. It may be like Jean Lafitte's brother, or one of Huey Long's sisters, Jimmie Davis' wife, Benjamin Butler's family or maybe Andrew Jackson's wife, just Historical People that never got talked about.
These two magazine covers are just another way to get students talking, thinking, and letting you know just how much they have learned throughout the chapter.
