This is a vocabulary packet to go along with the novel HOLES, by Louis Sachar. It features 40 vocabulary words and is intended to be used throughout the entirety of the novel.
It is broken down into sections, with four words in each section. It lists each word and gives the sentence or quote from the book that uses that particular word.
The answer key shows all of the definitions, but you're also welcome to use your own - or have students look up the words in a dictionary.
Here are the 40 words that are included:
ch.1-4: wasteland, curse, perseverance, convicted
ch. 5-8: coincidence, vacancies, humiliating, descendants
ch. 9-12: fossil, scowled, accomplish, society
