Challenge your students' minds with this fun FREE Summer Break Higher Order Thinking Skills Classification Exercise. Students must classify a group of items according to their general category, consider which one of the items is different from the others in some subtle way, remove it, and then determine the specific category that remains. There are ten sets of items to classify, and the answers are provided.
It works well as a great "End-of-Year Activity" or on testing days when you have time to fill. Students can work in small groups or independently.
My students loved to work in pairs and race against the clock to see who finished first with the most number of correct answers.
