Product Description
The activity has students measuring angles and lengths to determine their own latitude. Measurements then relate to sunrise and sunset times. A brief usage of Cosine tables is used but DOES NOT require the student to have experience of trigonometry. The first six pages are meant to be duplicated and distributed in quantity to each student in your class. PLEASE NOTE: There is NOT one single set of answers since the calculations are for the student's latitude. Answers will change depending on latitude. Since I wanted the teacher to have a set of answers, I ran the calculations for my latitude in Central Florida. Those four, cream colored answer sheets appear at the end of the activity.
